Description

Working in conjunction with the Director of Pricing and Product Data Management, the Pricing/Product Data Analyst will provide analytical support for price modeling, analysis of pricing strategies, tactics, and policies, and develop and recommend improvements for price related tools. Pricing/Product Data Analyst will provide over site and management of product data consistency and completeness within BFG’s product database.

Responsibilities

Duties include:

• Develop and Maintain pricing matrix tool to support pricing strategy decisions and maximize margin improvement initiatives. • Monitor price performance and profitability by Customer, Vendor and Sales Rep. • Develop analysis to identify new pricing initiatives. • Ensure pricing integrity and provide pricing support for promotions and customer contracts. • Audit margins constantly to ensure that company guidelines are being met. • Collaborate and interact with Product Managers, Sales, Marketing, and Finance to get accurate cost data to support pricing programs. • Assist Inventory Management in the review and maintenance of the accuracy of system standard cost. • Research and analyze competitive pricing techniques. • Assist in special project and financial analysis as needed. • Setup and maintain all product data. • Utilize reporting to identify incorrect product data. • Setup product data structure to use within all business areas of BFG.

Required Skills and Experience

Education, credentials and experience: • 1-3 years in financial or pricing analysis and use of financial modeling tools. • BS in Business, Finance or Economics. • Industry or Distribution experience preferred

Knowledge, skills, and abilities required: • Excellent PC skills including Excel and Word • Team mentality • Ability to prioritize and manage multiple tasks and projects concurrently • Strong quantitative and qualitative analysis skills • Self-directed • Exceptional oral and written communication skills • Ability to quickly establish and cultivate relationships – internal and external • Continuous improvement mentality
