Position Overview: We are seeking a skilled and experienced Purchasing Manager to join our team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for overseeing all aspects of procurement and leading a team of 8 to 12 Inventory Management Associates/Buyers. Responsibilities will include inventory planning, purchase order placement across multiple warehouses, transfer management between warehouses, and expediting purchase orders.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and implement procurement strategies to achieve +95% customer fill rates across all warehouses and achieve yearly inventory budget goals.
  • Work closely with Demand Planning to ensure item inventory purchase plans are in place and carried out.
  • Lead, train, mentor, and manage Inventory Management Associates and Buyers.
  • Maintain order control, item master, and vendor master fields in the SXe ERP system.
  • Work closely with Category Management on vendor relationships, scorecards, item warehouse assignments, and inventory plans.
  • Analyze market trends, pricing, and supplier performance to identify opportunities for cost reduction and process improvement.
  • Maintain accurate records of purchases, contracts, and vendor performance metrics.
  • Stay current on industry developments, regulations, and best practices to ensure compliance and drive continuous improvement.

Required Skills and Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree in business administration, Supply Chain Management, or a related field.
  • 8-10 years of experience in procurement, with a proven track record of successfully * Experience in purchasing for multiple warehouses and maintaining efficient inventory levels through purchasing and transfer strategies.
  • Experience in the assimilation and integration of new companies as it relates to the purchasing function.
  • Strong leadership and management skills with the ability to teach and mentor a team to become cohesive, consistent, and world-class.
  • Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret data and make data-driven decisions.
  • Strong problem-solving skills with the ability to be decisive.
  • Excellent communication and negotiation skills, with the ability to build
  • Proficiency in procurement software (Infor, SXE a plus), and Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Knowledge of relevant industry regulations and compliance requirements.
